Premier housebuilder looks to Ibstock to help meet conservation guidelines on exclusive Lincolnshire development

It comprises three and four-bedroom properties built close to excellent transport links. Bungalows with such a high specification as these are in demand when they come onto the market.  

“The first buyer moved in during September last year; and the two remaining homes are sold subject to contract. Purchasers were able to select from a variety of internal finishes and the bungalows achieved a high EPC rating of 89 and 90 put of 100. The Shearstone walling in Cotswold Village (Cottage) contributed to this excellent score along with the ground source heat pumps.

Therefore, we needed to put forward building materials that were in keeping with this and these included Ibstock’s Shearstone walling, made from reconstituted stone and providing a real alternative to real stone walling; and bricks from their Ivanhoe range. 

“Instead of using lime mortar, which is more difficult to work with, we were allowed to utilise white smooth mortar - containing some grit – which blended in superbly. The durability of the Shearstone walling is a major advantage knowing that it will weather well and not require return visits.”
