Lightbody Street, Liverpool is a development project striving to elevate the vacant site at the end of the historically significant Stanley Flight; the gateway to the Stanley Dock and Liverpool’s UNESCO world heritage site.

The design is re-imagining and bringing to life the architectural history of the site with materials that are sympathetic to the industrial heritage of the area. Ibstock's involvement in this project were the stunning precast arches and brick slips which help add to the architectural vision of the past industrial aesthetic. The arches are constructed offsite and installed as a full panel to the masonry system onsite. The brick slips were cut at our Midlands factory and supplied to the contractor.

It was important in confined areas, such as this project, to ensure space is controlled. In the manufacturing of these arches offsite Ibstock supported the contracting team to free up space, speed up the construction programme and save on preliminaries costs.
