At Ibstock, we believe infrastructure is more than just physical construction—it’s a powerful force for social and economic change. That’s why we were honoured to support and participate in the recent
BPIC Network Leaders’ Breakfast: Inclusive Economies – Creating Communities Through Infrastructure, held in Birmingham.
This meaningful and inspiring event brought together senior leaders from across the infrastructure sector, local government, and industry to explore how we can build communities that are not only well-connected, but also inclusive, equitable, and resilient.
Championing Infrastructure That Serves Everyone
The event sparked powerful conversations on the role of infrastructure in shaping society—not just through roads, buildings and rail, but by enabling opportunities, inclusion, and long-term prosperity. These are values that align closely with Ibstock’s purpose: to be at the heart of building, in every sense of the word.
We were especially proud to be part of discussions that emphasized infrastructure as a tool for unlocking potential—by investing in places, people, and policies that create real, lasting impact in the communities we serve.
A Collaborative Effort for Meaningful Change
The breakfast was hosted by Willmott Dixon and brought together key voices from across the industry, including an insightful keynote from Cllr Sharon Thompson, Deputy Leader of Birmingham City Council. Her address highlighted the essential role of local leadership in ensuring infrastructure investment meets the needs of diverse communities.
Our thanks go to the BPIC Network, Willmott Dixon, and all participants for facilitating such a thought-provoking and collaborative morning. Events like these are a reminder that meaningful progress happens when industry leaders come together with shared values and a collective commitment to inclusion.
Looking Ahead
At Ibstock, we are proud to play our part in building a more inclusive, sustainable and socially responsible future. This collaboration with the BPIC Network marks the beginning of what we hope will be many impactful initiatives together.
Here’s to continuing the conversation—and turning ideas into action.
